It's definitely an acquired taste. My main problem with OOT is that it's too
formulaic. Link to the Past started the trend of "Small quest, get glowy sword, big quest, defeat pig man" and OOT, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, etc. all followed it to the letter. It's not necessarily bad, but it's just different. It's the difference between being a cave explorer (MM has relatively more flexibility and I'd argue is more BoTW like) and a guest at Disneyland.
