Lol - you make it sound like investing in individual stocks is a bad idea
If you invest in the right companies, you can consistently beat some of the standard index funds on more years than not.
And if you diversify, you in essence have your own "mutual fund" that has the benefits of still going up when individual stocks go down.

Other: my financial advisor takes care of it and I never really have a clue what is going on but I trust them.
