Maybe I misunderstood the article I was reading, but it sure made it sound like
you couldn't reimburse yourself if you itemized the expenses.

I was reading this one, but just found another link and they clarify it in the second one I was reading

"[A couple of rules to keep in mind — the medical expenses must have been incurred after you established your HSA, and you can only reimburse yourself from your HSA if you didn't claim those expenses as itemized deductions in your tax return for the year that you paid them.]"


That still doesn't completely clarify if that only includes the portion that was able to be deducted or everything that was itemized period.
