knowledge of the team, and more times than not it’s after their own team has been beat by the overrated team. It usually looks a lot like sour grapes.

Payson beat the school in your boundary at least once, in some cases maybe even twice. More importantly they won the region title outright. Something your school couldn’t do.

In 5A there are only four regions. Despite winning their region Payson still went into the tournament as an 8 seed. That means there were four other teams seeded ahead of them who weren’t region champs.

That doesn’t sound like they were overrated at all.

They played a team last night that was a 9 seed. Even though that team hadn’t won their region and had three more losses than Payson going into that game, the difference in seeding was only one spot.

The game was close right to the very end and could have gone either way. Payson led for most of it.

It took the heroics of an unknown freshman (unknown except to a couple of us Dads in the crowd who had coached against him in Bantam) to pull off the win. Payson lost by two.

Again, I’d argue they were rated right about where they belonged. Last nights game played out the way you would expect an 8 vs 9 matchup to go.
