Two years ago Payson won 2 playoff games and lost in the semi finals to the eventual state champion Skyview.
It wasn’t a run to the championship but it was still a pretty good showing. The year before that they lost in the quarterfinals.
Payson has anywhere from 1/2 to 1/3 less the registered student athletes compared to their neighboring schools in the Nebo school district.
That’s just how the demographics work in our little town. We don’t have the number of athletes that other schools do.
Even with that limitation though the Lions still manage to hold their own on the basketball court.
