At night at the bathroom shower facility zt the camp ground.probably 500 to 800 yards from my troops camp sight.
On the way back ,right outside the shower, a group of scouts jumped out from the bushes...this was in the woods of South Carolina,
they shoved me down punched me pulled off my clothes grabbed my towel and stomped on my glasses breaking them. They took off with everything


Now my low light vision was bad as my R.P. was getting started but hadn't progressed too far yet. It was manageable with glasses, it was non existent really without.
So I had to figure out how to walk back to camp in the dark,alone, naked, and barefoot in the woods through winding thick SC woods.
I pretty much used sound to guide me... .it forced me to stop crying. That 500 to 800 yard "walk" of fear and shame back took me hours in the mosquito filled woods of SC.
