Gonzaga is a fabulous team, is building well and will be back. Baylor coming in and destroying them tonight doesn't change that
That said, this is the first time in 100 days that Gonzaga has played a really good team. In the interim, it's possible that BYU was their strongest opponent (either them or USC, both 6 seeds). That's not a knock on Gonzaga but playing BYU, a bunch of mediocre WCC teams, and then getting a 16, 9, 6, 11 path to the title isn't going to prepare them for a team like Baylor. It's very possible they'd have benefited from playing a few more quality teams in the last 3 months.

Very true. They could never seal the deal. They also benefitted from weak competition during the regular season.
