There is more than just scores. Extracurriculars and leadership are huge. I’d

take the slightly lower GPA and ACT kid that played sports, was in NHS, and class president over the higher scores with no leadership or extracurriculars. Being well rounded is beneficial to the university. Otherwise we end up with a bunch of nerds who are not well adjusted (which is most of the undergrads I’ve interacted with during my grad program at an Ivy)
