Always felt like we had 3 all stars, a sixth man of the year, defensive player of the year, a coach of the year candidate, and a bunch of depth filled with really good role players but no true superstar/mvp candidate type player to get us over the top.

Take a look at donovans numbers over the last 7-10 games or so and he is putting up career numbers that would put him into the mvp discussion if he can keep it up. He is so dialed in right now. That to me was all this team was lacking to win a title. Watch out, their superstar mvp caliber player might have arrived now.

Over his last 12 games he has 7 over 30 points. including games of 42, 41, 37, 35, 35.
Probably would have a few more games over 30 points in that stretch if not for some blowouts. he only had 22 against orlando because he didn't play much since they were up by like 40 in that game. (donovan was a plus 46 in that one lol). He only played 21 minutes. Same thing against cleveland. He scored 19 in 24 minutes due to a blowout. 27 points against brooklyn in 27 minutes of a blowout. He is killing it lately.
