I had companion from South Carolina. I laugh to tears remembering him trying to speak Japanese with his heavy
Southern accent. The looks on Japanese folks faces were priceless as they watched him a speak it as well. They seemed both mystified and entertained at the same time...and were surprised they could understand once they became used to hearing it.
I guess I'm the same way when I'd talk to Scots. I could listen to them talk endlessly
