They're clearly not going to be Georgia or anything, but they should be pretty capable this next season and would be a real threat to BYU.
They had a long history of being solid with Paul Johnson and running the triple option, but he retired after 2018 and they hired a new coach who transitioned them to more of a pro scheme.
Downside is that they had a bunch of light OL, and QBs better suited to running than to actually passing. In 2019 they started 3 different QBs, none of whom did anything remotely effective. The season included a loss to the Citadel - the whole thing was a nightmare.
2020 the end results weren't a lot better, but there were some promising signs after a rough start of the season with a true freshman QB making his initial start with very limited practice (due to COVID restrictions). They're not going to win the conference over Clemson, but they'd be a real threat to beat BYU next season.
