If you work in design, then you get to keep a lot of free stuff. Samples and prototypes are a huge sunk cost for companies, and most samples just end up being given away to employees, sold at sample sales, or donated to charity. I've received a ton of free or heavily discounted clothing and footwear over the years from my employers for this very reason.
