The OP implies that the offending dog owners directly violated multiple requests
regarding his own home. They brought the dog over when he asked them not to, then they let the dog in after they promised to keep it outside. I don't think at that point it's a matter of taking offense, the dog owners apparently are just downright disrespectful.
