That's 95th percentile. What's the point of moving to the 97th with a 34? His
grades and other competitive factors will be more important. He's already established that he's got a high IQ. Harvard and Stanford reject people with perfect 36s.

I got 33 twice before getting 35. Honestly, at that point study isn't going to

Retake it a few times. All of my sons improved. He could get a 36 on math.

I would say this is generally true but it depends on what he missed and why.

True, and if he got 36 on 2 and 29 on 2, he would obviously want to study those

If that is the case, it would be worth it to hire a private tutor. There are strategies that can really help.

Isn't a perfect score a 36? Shouldn't he be good with a 33?

At BYU, at least a 34 is required for 4-year scholarships (at least that was

Is that 34 threshold based on actual data or hearsay?

In 2006 it was a hard requirement. I'm not sure what they do now.

It's not hearsay. BYU has published some guidelines, and that was on there. I currently have 3 kids at BYU

Here it is from 2018-19 - looks like 35 now required for 4-year scholarships

Okay. I'm convinced. With that standard, there's no way I buy UU being a tougher

You need a 34 for scholarships at BYU. That's why it makes a difference.

I would just try doing lots of practice exams first.

Courses are geared for kids scoring much lower than yours. Private tutor is the way.

Makes sense. I'd still try practice tests first if there's time.

My son just pulled an 18. Not studying and hating school seemed to help him.
