It’s supposed to keep half the teams from mailing it in the last third of the

Season in theory. though It should at least help the number one and two seeds by giving them more rest than their opponent in the first round.

The play in is a joke considering over half the teams make the playoffs already.

The only way I’d support it is if they seeded 1-16. Earning 8th in the west is different than 8th in the East.
