They were able to show me that CA is an exception to that. I had all of the

same websites pulled up and argued it for almost an hour. I should have shipped the car. It would have saved me about 1000$

Yes. When you register the car in Utah you pay the difference between Utah sales tax and any smaller amount (like $0)
