Think they’re well thought out. Today was kind of covering his bases. A few weeks ago he was saying “the 49ers will take Mac Jones because an athlete will mess up the system.” Might have been an all time dumb take. I think today he’s spot on though.

IMO, they really like Lance or Fields. They traded up to 3 and leaked Mac Jones. If someone else loved Mac, they could have traded with the Jets. But if another team really liked Fields/Lance, and that other team thought SF was taking Jones, they wouldn’t try and jump SF. They would talk to Atlanta instead, so the 9ers wouldn’t have to worry. Now that the Jets have traded Darnold, they have to take a
QB and aren’t trading back, so the 9ers don’t have to worry.

As of right now, I think it’s Lance, hope it’s Fields. I don’t think the 9ers would have told Lance to start working with Beck unless they wanted him to get a head start. It’s one thing to have a say in his workout, it’s another thing to say “hey, hire this QB coach.”
