Are you sure? We saw a mama and 2 cubs (like 100 yards away), and the ranger there said they were grizzlies.
This was in Yellowstone about 14 years ago.
They looked like grizzlies to me, for whatever that's worth, and as I said, the ranger thought they were grizzlies, too.
If they were not, in fact, grizzly bears, then I don't want to know because then I would have to change my story about seeing grizzly bears in the wild, haha.

Does in a Natl Park. count? If so in Glacier NP when I was a kid going to see Aunt & Uncle who lived in BC.
