I had one in my house in Seattle and I loved it. We had central air as well

(which is a luxury in Seattle) and we used the whole house vent much more often. But it helps that the temperature drops to 60 at night even when it has been 90 during the day. The whole house fan meant no need to open and close windows and cooled the house much faster than just opening windows.
