If they live in Utah they are hurting their child's eligibility...UHSAA age rule
"No student shall be eligible to participate in Association activities who has reached nineteen (19) years
of age prior to the first day of September of the school year in which such participation is intended."
That kid will be a 17 year old Freshman. Depending on his DOB, he'll only get 3 years, maybe 2, of eligibility.
