Wouldn't you just work as a contractor at that point?
Take your salary, double it, pay for your benefits out of pocket, and set your own schedule.
If it's an option it's probably a pretty good one. The downside is that it's a lot easier to terminate a contractor.

Overtime is handled the same for both full-time and hourly. You are an exempt employee so you only get paid overtime
