I don't love the draft pick proposal — I think it would break the league to have a team like Golden State luck into a top-3 pick during their dynasty and the lack of transparency would completely dissolve trust in the system if the big-market teams somehow got a higher proportion of higher picks than small market teams.
But I do like the concept of dividing the season into two phases and ridding the last 20 or games of the season from the teams that are tanking. And doing it without relegation would probably diminish a lot of the angst from owners.
