This is personal opinion, but I was not a fan of the Star Trek reboot movies.
The first and third ones were ok as far as movies go, but Into Darkness was awful. It did a complete disservice to the character of Khan, and at best was a poorly written copy of Star Trek 2. I think it also trivialized Spock's sacrifice from TWOK as well.

The Kelvin timeline has re-imagined Star Trek in more of a Star Wars type of setting, and lost a lot of what made Star Trek Star Trek.

They can be considered good movies (minus Into Darkness), but bad Star Trek.
