POLL: What's your opinion about the future of the Wasatch Front's housing market?, and, why do you think that?
This is a major question right now on the minds of quite a few CBers, and I am certainly one of them. After being very close to signing a custom build contract for a home in Grantsville I am hesitating now. Why? Mainly two things: comps are few/the appraisers may or may not look outside of a neighborhood and I'm not sure the bid we got was a fair price. It's a lock-in price but it seems mighty fat to me. So much is unknown. The Wasatch Front has "never" seen anything like this. Ever. Since I asked the question I'll be the first to give my opinion. I think it's "B"; I think the market will cool off, slightly, because people are not only tired of the sticker price, I think quite a few prospective buyers are getting angry; they feel taken advantage of and are more willing to wait now. But I don't think prices will ever come back to what they were even a year ago. Why? The desire to make money and the fact there are still more people that want homes than there are homes available. So, "B".
What do you think?, and why?
Maybe we can learn something valuable from each other?
