Intervention Needed
SLC Combined MSA is 22nd, 3 bigger w/o team; 4 smaller w/teams
Las Vegas is smaller also. Salt Lake having a younger population is a plus as well as thriving NBA team. Not sure the corporate base in there yet.

That would be rough after losing the Raiders and (kind of) the Warriors

Does Salt Lake have the size to support a MLB team?

Maybe if MLB expands to 36 or 38 teams they’ll start being considered.

I don't blame them, especially of the city doesn't approve the waterfront

A's are asking for a big sum of public money. Its not just a matter of approval

They are paying for the stadium 100%. They are asking for infrastructure money from the city
TCuz

was Oakland planning on spending a billion dollars for that infrastructure if

Probably not. It would be an infrastructure project for sure. But there’s a huge difference
TCuz

it is a difference, but if the request is for a billion dollars to develop

Sure. And reasonable then for the franchise to leave the city.

I agree that this sounds like pressuring Oakland to approve the plans. Of course

Seattle doesn't have a basketball team, not unprecedented at all
