We were just dating but visiting her parents since we lived out of town.

For some reason I am in the middle of this sandwich at the movie with my then Gf (now wife) on my right and Future MIL on my left.

We had a huge bucket of popcorn again, that I am holding in the middle. My wife and her mom each had a tray that they dumped popcorn on and held on their laps.

I noticed my FMIL’s tray was empty so I kind of leaned over and holding up the popcorn said “can I fill you up?” But “fill” totally sounded like “feel.”

As soon as I said it I knew it was too late. We all heard it and we know exactly how it sounded. My wife coughed out popcorn laughing so hard. My MIL red faced and about to die from laughter says “sure.” And hard as I tried I couldn’t put those words back in.
