The vaccines have been out for less than a year. Are there long term effects?
Also, nobody thinks this is going to be a one-time shot, so the argument of getting a shot for your kids now to protect them when they are older, kind of like HPV, doesn't really matter. I have no problem that people are hesitant about a new vaccine. We also hear the argument about the long-term effects of Covid that we may not even know about yet, but nobody seems to mention that the vaccines themselves may have long-term effects. This is brand new vaccine, and to say after 5 months, we know all the possible side effects is just foolish. Is it possible that it's completely safe? Absolutely. Is it possible it affects the body in some unforeseen way? Cancer? Something else? Who knows.
