When they first start hospice (or even before then) have them practice using a Depends style diaper.

The combination of a lifetime of conditioning to always use the bathroom, and the unawareness of their true physical condition, (i.e. being unable to walk) may result in them literally fighting with you or the hospice nurse while trying to get out of bed to go to the bathroom.
