Because after giving me the run down for like ten minutes where we were just going in circles I just said “look buddy, this is outside your lane. You don’t deal with this. You have no clue what you’re talking about.” He then told me that “he was a well respected surgeon” which I followed up with by saying “I’ve never come across a well respected surgeon who was doing prior authorization s for an insurance company”. Absolute scum of our profession. I don’t blame a nurse for doing it to collect a paycheck, but for an MD? What a joke.

But you’re right it’s all a total joke. Just something they use to block stuff by creating as much resistance/annoyance as possible
