You want it to exactly match the other end.
He's right, there's T-568A and T-568B. The difference is how the orange and green wire are placed. The other thing is you want to do is push the wires into the RJ-45 connector so far that you can see the "eyes" of the wire. Meaning when you look head on at them, you see the copper. That way when you crimp them you know they are getting pierced.
Your top one is T-568A, the orange is on the outside. Make sure when you terminate your end, you don't have it upside down (have the wires in upside down). I often use the edge of the desk to flatten out the wires, it makes it easier to push them into the RJ-45 connector.
