The best G5 team is consistently a top 15 team and is usually undefeated. Three of the last four years the best G5 team has been a top ten team and undefeated. Just joining a G5 guarantees us nothing. Winning a G5 conference guarantees nothing. You generally have to be undefeated and conference champ to be the best G5 team. Even then, there would be no guarantees. There were two undefeated G5 teams last year. Only one would be guaranteed a spot.
