I was in the Wind Rivers last August and it was bone dry, scary dry. We went

backpacking for a week and had read online about how the mosquitoes were terrible. I don't think I saw a single one, it felt like I was backpacking in New Mexico. I think you need to go further north to Canada or the PNW to find a western place that isn't facing drought.
