when fielding the question about BYUtv.
DM: BYUtv, where does that sit in, was that a stumbling block?
TH: You know, it's interesting, I..I'm not sure if it is from their standpoint, but I know that ...BYUtv has been a very positive thing. I mean, today, we're going to play a game against Oregon State that's now going to be on TV because of a collaboration with FOX college sports, the Big, uh, the PAC 12, and BYUtv. So I think there's been a lot of misinformation out there about BYUtv but uh, that's for people to speculate on.
Dumb decision-makers at BYU were so freaking enamored with BYUtv that it messed with their heads. You have to remember that Texas was already making B12 institutions mad due to the LHN. Many on CB wanted to just watch games for free on BYUtv and didn't care to play big boy football. BYUtv was a huge discussion point and BYU higher ups were scared to get in a MTN situation again. It was a different TV landscape back then and bottom line is that some people royally screwed up.
