but you could probably do it a bit quicker since the northern part of the trail is pretty flat. For that reason, we are going north to south staring at Abol Bridge and ending in Monson. My itinerary is almost set although there is a place to re-supply that is a bit like Vermilion on the JMT called Whitehouse Landing Camps where they pick you up by boat and take you to their lodge on the other side of the lake. Just not sure though it will fit in as it sort of screws up my mileage.
I also like that there are a bunch of lean-tos and AT campgrounds along the way mostly because it's so much easier to go #2. We had something similar on the Wonderland Trail around Mt Rainier a few years ago and it really is a huge bonus on longer backpacking trips (as opposed to squating over of finding a log somewhere to do your business).
