Stockyards are fine if you're into Western stuff or have kids but mainly if you like drinking cowboy style. Joe T Garcias has a patio/courtyard at the Stockyards that is a local favorite.

In the NW Dallas area - Babe's chicken and Ida Claire are also popular in addition to the ones I listed.
