I used to have the same opinion about carrot cake.
Turns out that making a good carrot cake is harder than other desserts, but when I finally had a good one, I suddenly liked the stuff.
Apart from that, the general tone on CB is less, "Well, my personal preference is X for this reason . . ." and more, "EVERYONE KNOWS THAT X SUX!!!"
