champions. If this is really how they are going to go, then the top 12 teams will be in the playoff. That means that BYU does not need to be in a conference and can remain Independent with equal access to the playoff as anyone else. We just have to be ranked in the top 12, which is far more likely to happen by winning against our current schedules than in a G5 conference.
