taking Boise, if you are the AAC, is that you have to ask yourself what happens to Boise when/if the football program ever starts to struggle. They are in a small TV market, small stadium they rarely sell out, low academic profile, and they are even further out into the middle of nowhere than BYU is. Other than a very good football program (albeit one that’s already started to sputter the last few years) they don’t bring a lot to the table.
So perhaps at some point it makes sense to add a 12th team with BYU and then just call it good.
