It’s not that difficult…
The AAC and MWC are options. If BYU approached them they would most likely extend an invite to BYU. Until an invite is likely or forthcoming from a P5 conference it isn’t an option.

The only way forward with the 12 team playoff is with a conference. You have two conferences where you have a chance.
