Look, I feel for the owner, and I would be livid. What happened here is clearly horrific. I am not talking about
culpability, or whether this was a horrible thing to do. The renter destroyed someone else's property out of anger. That is a crime and she should be charged.

I am talking about whether jail time is the right solution for this kind of crime. Feels to me like the answer might be no. Especially if this were a first time offense. There are a lot of things we can do short of putting someone in jail to punish them. Community service, fines, counseling, credit destruction, etc.

You really want taxpayers to fund them being in jail for 6 months? Seems crazy.
