Was so open and on fire when the Clippers made their run in the third. Clearly they decided to stick with a game plan that wasn’t working????

Generally doubling in the paint in today’s nba just seems to give up open threes, and the Clippers are one of the best three point shooting teams in the league. You won’t see the Suns do that to defend the Clippers , although that’s partially because their guards and wings are better defenders at keeping their opponents from getting to the lane/paint. The Jazz don’t have a Crowther or Bridges. Even Chris Paul is pretty good at defense because of quick hands/steals.
