But as I stated every coach should know that giving up wide open corner threes is about the worst thing to do since it’s the most efficient shot in today’s nba. I think they thought that Gobert could bother George and still get out to the corners to contest the shot. The Clippers got into the paint quicker and deeper and so the scheme was flawed since Gobert couldn’t cover that distance. Once that happened 4-5 times they should have adjusted and made George beat them 1:1. He probably would have, but it’s two points instead of three.
I will say that the difficulty with defending the Clippers is that they have several players that can both shoot and get into the paint.
