had a conversation about that with an employee this morning, he was a track
athlete with a % scholarship all through college, I asked him what he thought would happen based on the SCOTUS ruling, and he said he was glad he got through when he did because he doesn't think that path will be possible much longer, he got a masters degree in Accounting, and without it being highly subsidized by his scholarship, he wouldn't have gone to college at all.

He told me he figured he would be like his troublemaker gang member brother who has been in and out of prison for various low level crime/drug related offenses, as they grew up in the Bronx with a single mother who emigrated to the US when he was about 8.

He thinks Olympic sports are going to shrink in size as the revenue sports will spend more on their athletes and will balance the budget by cutting non-revenue sports.

I find myself agreeing with him, that this probably does end up hurting student athletes in non-revenue generating sports more than any other group as funds are redistributed and budgets are adjusted to fit the new spending models.
