That is so bizarre. It's not like that is something specific to members of the
church. That is a common practice all over the country and especially in the south. When a new neighbor moves in, it is common courtesy to swing by with some sort of welcoming gift and to introduce yourself. It's crazy that people who hate the church here in Utah try to make it into this big deal associated with the church when you are just trying to be a nice, welcoming neighbor.
