Looking at the still photo, he holds the ball really weird

His middle and ring fingers are barely touching the laces and the index finger is nowhere near the point of the ball. Is that how he typically holds the football? Can't be right?

I just looked up his hand size. 9 3/8 vs 9 1/2 for Zach Wilson. Google a photo of Zach's hand position on the football. Totally different. Neither one has big hands. Zach compensates by holding the back of the football which is fine. How does Jameis throw a spiral?
