At work if someone calls me and I don't answer, I much prefer them to leave a
voicemail telling me what they need. If I call them back, chances are I'm going to need time to cater to their request. I would much rather they tell me what they need in a voicemail, then I can be prepared when I call them back.

I use it to gage if they're ready to talk. Often they're in an informal meeting and can't yet. They'll respond when open
