This. The P5 conferences have leverage and don’t want/need the crazy late/early
start times. Except for the P12, which is currently doing whatever it has to do to increase its visibility and revenue.

A conference like the AAC, however, that is flexible in these matters could benefit from it. Especially now that the MWC is essentially no longer on ESPN.

ESPN and the AAC together could benefit from having reasonably priced content to go into the late night slot on ESPN2 next to the PAC12 on ESPN. They could benefit even more from filling the Friday night slot currently filled (usually) by the MWC and BYU.

If ESPN is willing to bump up the TV contract to 13-14 additional games on ESPN2 to fill those slots every week, that could translate into $20-30M more for the AAC TV contract and make adding 1-3 teams in the Mountain or Pacific time zones really appealing.
