What are some things to do in Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire?

It looks like I'll be up in that area next month, and that I'll have some free time to look around.

For those of you who have vacationed up in that part of the country before, what would you recommend? (I'll probably have a few days available.)

Portsmouth NH is great. Bar Harbor, ME (Acadia National) is fantastic. And Burlington VT off Lake Champlain is great.
