An amazing number of people have leas than 1% of their income in savings…
Living paycheck to paycheck. That said having $1200/ month in car payments
$2200/month in mortgage ( because of super low interest)
Add in some cash out refinancing.
Then living expenses….. someone making $60-70 k with tax incentives etc a year can do it…. Might not have any retirement savings or life insurance but it’s doable.
