wrong message that the HC has to be LDS all the time. We should be extra careful with character and make sure whoever is hired represents everything the university is about, but turning down or not considering a sports coaching candidate because of religious beliefs is a bad look, even for a private religious university. How cool would it be to have a top tier, non-member HC touting the great things about the church and the university. It would give the message more credibility.
